| Female Sexual Dysfunction Demystified | |
| Despite the commonness of female sexual dysfunction, a majority of women do not feel comfortable discussing the issues of sexual difficulty and painful intercourse with their health care provider. This makes it imperative that providers take a more active role in raising the issue, diagnosing the underlying cause, and treating the problem. women are coerced into having unwanted sexual intercourse by being violently
raped. Even more women are coerced into having unwanted sexual intercourse
in numerous more subtle ways…We focus on nonviolent sexual coercion,
in the hope that labeling it as coercive may create a step toward change.” Elaine Spencer-Carver, MSW Presented at: 26th Annual Kansas Family Planning Wichita, Kansas June 3, 2004 |

| Emergency Contraception (EC) Training Program for Pharmacists and Health Care Professionals | |
| EC (also known as
the "morning-after pill" or Plan B) is a safe and effective way
to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or birth control failure. It
can be taken up to 5 days after sex, but is more effective the sooner it
is taken. EC contains the same hormones as birth control pills and WILL
NOT cause an abortion — EC is not RU-486 and will not interrupt an
already established pregnancy. - Earn 1 hour of CEs or CMEs - Obtain useful and relevant information on EC to better serve your clients - Satisfy California's requirement for pharmacists to provide EC services in your pharmacy - Course can be completed on line - click here Cost = $25 Association of Reproductive Health Professionals 2401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Suite #350 Washington, DC 20037 Phone: 202/466-3825 Fax: 202/466-3826 http://www.arhp.org/ |

| STD/HIV Client Education Materials for Linguistically Diverse Populations | |
| State Family Planning
Administrators Project: In 2002, State Family Planning Administrators (SFPA), did a needs assessment of all members to identify common areas of interest for assisting family planning (FP) programs in reaching out to culturally and ethnically diverse communities. The goal was to collect names of various pamphlets, fact sheets, etc. and create a central list of non-English sexually transmitted disease/infection (STD) patient resources. By no means does this list contain all of the non-English STD/HIV client resources that are available. It is an attempt to fill a void for those clinics that may have limited knowledge of the scope of resources available. Hopefully this list can be made accessible to large numbers of reproductive health professionals and STD/HIV programs that work with linguistically diverse populations State Family Planning Administrators Project Center for Health Training 1809 7th Ave, Suite 400 Seattle, WA 98101-1341 206-447-9538 seattle@jba-cht.com |
