Patient Flow Analysis: The Ins and Outs

Dates: January 13 & 20; February 11 & 24, 2009 Individuals who participate in this training will be able to: conduct patient flow analysis within their clinics; monitor efficiency regarding client wait times, client show rates, client contact time in the clinic, non-contact administrative tasks and other measurable outcomes; and utilize PFA findings to direct action plans and change initiatives. This PFA training will be taught in 4 two-hour sessions (Participants are required to attend all four sessions). Session 1 – The focus of this session will be on defining PFA, outlining the parameters of PFA, and setting up a PFA study. Session 2 – The focus of this session will be on data entry, and understanding the uses of the reports and graphs produced by the PFA program. At the conclusion of session 2 and prior to the start of Session 3, participants will conduct a PFA study of their agency. Session 3 – The focus of this session will be on data entry problem solving, and agency specific interpretation of graphs and reports. Session 4 - The focus of the final session will be on interpreting results, brainstorming possible clinic issues, utilizing consensus building in identifying problems and solutions, and how to plan for change.

Annual Family Planning Conference

Participants who attend this conference, will leave with strategies for improving clinic efficiency, maximizing resource allocation and expanding the delivery of family planning services. This year’s conference will feature an orientation to family planning and two contraceptive updates, one on the impact of media advertising on method selection and one on the pharmacology/science of hormonal contraception. Also included will be sessions on maximizing returns from third party billing, keeping women healthy women during the reproductive years, identifying the next steps after completing a cost analysis, the musts of Title X, an STD update, responding to questions, complaints and concerns from clients, and legal issues surrounding adolescent reproductive health care.
